I obviously don't know if you are familiar with the Sonos system but you do need a Bridge at the router to connect wirelessly or have the router within Ethernet cable reach. I have the Play Bar, the Sub Woofer and two Sonos3s giving excellent surround sound from the TV with nothing but the one optical cable connected to the TV (and the power leads of course). I also have another Sonos3 and a 5 in other locations in the house - pretty expensive I know but worth the outlay. Remember as well that even though the Sound Bar is connected to the TV it will still perform the same functions as the other forms of Sonos speaker, ie: playing music and listening to the radio, when the TV is off.
